Ryecroft Glenton is delighted to announce that the firm’s Corporate Finance Partner, Carl Swansbury, has again been named Young Dealmaker of the Year at the North East Insider Dealmakers Awards 2017.

Having previously won the award, Carl was again presented with the accolade at the prestigious ceremony, held at the Hilton NewcastleGateshead, which celebrated the achievements of the North East’s corporate finance community.

The judges acknowledged Carl and the Corporate Finance team’s highly-productive 12 months to 30 June 2017 having advised on 16 completed transactions including the £17.1m sale of MTrec Ltd to Japanese-listed Trust Tech Inc, the Management Buy Out of IT services business, DP Connect and the sale of energy consulting business, Taylor Hopkinson Ltd to London based private equity house, SEA Equity.

In addition, Carl was also shortlisted in the Corporate Finance Advisor of the Year and Dealmaker of the Year categories, while the team was shortlisted in three further categories – Corporate Finance Advisory Firm of the Year and the two Deal of the Year awards – Under £10m for the sale of tenant referencing business, Van Mildert to Aldington Capital and Over £10m for the Mtrec sale to Trust Tech Inc.

Carl Swansbury, Partner at Ryecroft Glenton, said: “I am very honoured to have been presented with this prestigious award for the second time.  It is an endorsement of the exceptional work our Corporate Finance Team has put in over the past 12 months and the excellent clients we have had the privilege of working with.”

“We would like to thank everyone for the support we have been shown during the past 12 months and our brilliant clients, professional friends and respected peers who voted for us. Huge congratulations goes to the other individuals and firms who won awards, along with those who were shortlisted, in particular the team at Wardhadaway for being named as Corporate Law Firm of the Year, Yorkshire Bank for winning Asset-Based Lender of the Year, Philip Clare of Muckle LLP for being crowned Corporate Lawyer of the Year and Aaron Clark, who took the title of Corporate Banker of the Year.”

“We are currently advising on a dozen or so transactions and despite the obvious economic and political headwinds we are very much looking forward to another very active year of dealmaking here in the North East!”
