What’s your current role at Ryecroft Glenton? – I am a member of the Accounts & Outsourced Services department. I provide weekly book-keeping services and monthly management accounts as well as preparing year end accounts.
How long have you been here? – Just over a year – although it does feel longer (I’m not sure if that’s a good thing or a bad thing).
Where did you grow up? – I was born in Newcastle and raised in Hebburn. I still live there now.
What are your hobbies/interests away from the office? – I like reading, travelling, socialising with friends. I also like going to the cinema, theatre and watching TV.
What’s your favourite eating establishment in Newcastle? – El Coto. In my opinion it’s a very authentic Spanish restaurant. You can’t beat a few tapas and some sangria!
What reality show would you go on and why? – These days they are so many of them, none of which really appeal to me, but if I had to choose one it would be Strictly Come Dancing. I used to do ballroom dancing as a child so it would be fun to see how many of the moves I can remember and the costumes are amazing.
Which country would you most like to visit? – Australia. I don’t think I’ll ever visit though because I’m not sure I could handle the flight(s).
Who is the most famous person you have ever met? – Jordan Knight (a member of the boy band New Kids on the Block).
What TV shows do you enjoy? – I watch mostly American/Canadian TV shows e.g. Chicago Fire, Chicago PD, Law & Order: SVU, Supernatural, Criminal Minds to name a few.
What’s the one movie you watch over and over? – It’s A Wonderful Life. I watch it every Christmas. It makes you realise how much of an impact one person’s existence (or non-existence) can have on somebody else’s life.
Do you have any pets? – I have a cat named Tilly. My husband’s auntie passed away and it was a case of someone taking her in or sending her to a shelter. I said we’d take her then Chris admitted to me he didn’t like cats. Well we’ve had her two years now and I’m sure he loves her more than he loves me!
What’s your favourite song of all time? – On My Own, a song from the musical Les Miserables.
What was the first record you bought? – Oh this is going back a bit. I’ll say ‘You Got It (the Right Stuff)’ by New Kids On the Block.
What is your favourite film quote? – ‘You can’t handle the truth!’ as said by Jack Nicholson’s character Col Jessop in the movie A Few Good Men.
If you were not an accountant what would you be? – A bed tester as I love to sleep. To be paid for something I love to do would be fantastic.
If you had to learn another language what would it be and why? – Italian – I love the country and the food. Also, my name is actually the Italian word for woman. Need I say anything else?
Where is the best place you’ve visited? – Jukkasjarvi, Sweden. I stayed at The Ice Hotel and I received a certificate proving I braved the weather. While I was there the overnight temperature was minus 41. It was the coldest weather I have ever experienced.
