The Ryecroft Glenton 5 a-side football team recently took part in the inaugural ‘charity shield’ hosted by Hay & Kilner and the Newcastle Young Professionals Forum. The tournament was hosted to raise money for the People’s Kitchen and brought together 15 teams from a variety of professions.
The RG team, featuring a blend of youth and experience, defied all of the odds to go through the group stages unbeaten before progressing through to the final where they emerged victorious. Thanks to all of those involved in the organising and those who took part.
