On Sunday 11 September, Dan Cooper, one of our senior managers, joined 57,000 others to take part in the Great North Run. This was the first time that Dan had taken part in the event, running together with his father. Dan raised an amazing £1,390 for the Butterwick Hospice, in memory of his grandfather.
Butterwick Hospice has been caring for the local community for over 30 years. It offers a wide range of supportive day services for people suffering life limiting illnesses and offers care and support to patients’ families. The Hospice expertise is freely available to those living in Stockton, Billingham, Yarm, Norton and Eaglescliffe and surrounding villages and relies on donations to carry out its work. http://www.butterwick.org.uk/
Dan said “This was the first time I had taken part in the event and I was overwhelmed by the level of support throughout the race. The crowds who turned out made the run much easier than in training, especially on South Shield’s seafront where we were cheered over the line. I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who has donated to a very worthy cause.”
