On Sunday 9 September. Dan Cooper, one of our directors, joined over 57,000 others to take part in the Great North Run and raised money for the Butterwick Hospice, in memory of his Grandfather.
Butterwick Hospice, based in Stockton has provided care for the surrounding community for over 30 years.
The hospice offers a wide range of supportive day services for people suffering life limiting illnesses and offers care and support to patients’ families. Butterwick Hospice, Stockton also offers 10 in-patient beds. The hospice expertise is freely available to those living in Stockton, Billingham, Yarm, Norton, Eaglescliffe and surrounding villages.
Dan completed the run in a very respectable 2 hours and 5 minutes, a little outside his time from the 2016 GNR. Well done to Dan, for completing the run and raising money for such a good cause.
Dan said: “It was an amazing day and although it was extremely hot, we had supporters every step of the way (including Boe the dog, looking full of joy at the Butterwick Charity tent!) – bring on 2019.”
