On Saturday 27th October our RG team of 23 brave volunteers participated in a Zip Wire Challenge from the Tyne Bridge, arranged to raise funds for St Oswald’s Hospice.
It was a bright but very cold day as we all jumped off the Tyne Bridge and abseiled diagonally 35 metres above the River Tyne for a length of 295 metres!
St Oswald’s Hospice is close to our hearts as many of us have had relatives cared for at the Hospice and the care and support offered is exceptional.
St Oswald’s Hospice relies on the generosity of supporters to raise the £7.5m they need each year to provide specialist services.
Each year the Hospice cares for over 2,000 North East adults, young people and children with incurable conditions, and their families. No charge is made to patients for the services provided ensuring expert, dignified and compassionate care is available to all.
We have received well over £7,000 in donations so far which is an absolutely incredible amount and we are extremely grateful for the generosity of everyone who supported this event.
