Success for RG football team

On 19 September Sintons hosted a football tournament at Goals in Gosforth in aid of Daft as a Brush.

Twelve teams from businesses across the North East took part in the five-a-side event and were organised into three groups of four. RG were in a group with Metnor Construction, Sintons and Atlas Cloud. In the group stages we beat Atlas Cloud and drew with Metnor Construction and Sintons, finishing second on goal difference and progressing to the knock-out stages.

We then played Metnor Construction again in the quarter finals and won comfortably. In the semi-final we played Deloitte, winning a penalty shoot-out after 0-0 draw and in a high scoring final RG faced Baldwins in a Portland Terrace derby which we won 7-3.

The tournament raised a total of £2,210 towards a fundraising goal of £15,000, which will enable the purchase of a liveried ambulance for Daft as a Brush, to increase its provision for transporting chemotherapy and radiotherapy patients across the North East.

Well done to everyone who took part and thank you to Sintons for organising a fantastic tournament and raising funds for such an excellent cause.
