RG staff and partners wear pink to raise money for breast cancer research

On Thursday 24 October Ryecroft Glenton staff held a ‘Wear Pink to Work’ day, swapping their usual office attire for anything pink. They raised a fantastic total of £764 for breast cancer care.

Every Breast Cancer Awareness month thousands of people wear pink, raise money and help make life-saving breast cancer research happen. Breast Cancer Now’s wear it pink day is one of the UK’s biggest fundraising events, having raised over £33 million since launching in 2002.

The charity Breast Cancer Now has an ambition that by 2050, everyone who develops breast cancer will live. To achieve this their research is focused on how to prevent breast cancer, how to detect it earlier and how to treat it effectively at every stage.

The Ryecroft Glenton Wear it Pink day was organised, as usual, by Fiona Hall who is pictured as Florita the flamingo!

Partners and staff donated many wonderful prizes for a raffle and baked (and bought) cakes for a cake sale. There were also “Pick the Winning Number” and “Guess how many flamingos” competitions and a ‘Pink’ quiz to add to the fun!

Many thanks to Fiona for her endless enthusiasm and to all the staff and parnters who took part in a great day and contributed to the total amount raised.
