Ryecroft Glenton again took part in Newcastle Falcons’ Summer of Touch competition and returned from finals night with silverware after winning the Plate competition for the second time in three years.
The 2017 touch rugby competition saw over 200 people participate with 24 teams taking part in the games played over 8 weeks at Kingston Park. Teams were made up of 5 players with at least 1 member of the opposite sex taking part at all times. Over the first 7 weeks all the teams played each other once in a league format before the table was split into 5 competitions, the Cup, Shield, Plate, Bowl and Vase. Ryecroft Glenton took on BD Wasps, Green Eagle, KPMG and Onyx Barbarians, winning all 4 of their games and with it the Plate competition.
