Welcome to the Summer edition of our Agricultural Journal which comes after a very inhospitable Spring for you all, followed by a scorching hot and dry early summer. Not only did it make lambing and calving difficult and stressful, but it also means both lower income levels in the future and significant additional costs on feeds and vet bills etc.
We try to make the articles included in the Journal topical and Paul Charlton’s piece on ‘borrowing tips’ is timely in view of the unusual weather. Helen Pennock writes on the issue of ‘making accounts digital’ and I would urge you all to act now to ensure you are fully compliant by the start date of April 2019 – many clients already have converted successfully and to their great surprise in certain instances!
We also have articles on the Spring Budget by Anthony Main and the final page is a summary of ‘snippets’ by Deborah Graham covering various tax and payroll matters.
As usual, if you have any questions on any of the articles in this newsletter, please do not hesitate to contact your usual Ryecroft Glenton contact.
