On Friday 21 June 2019, dog loving employees from RG and other businesses across the UK brought their four-legged companions to work.
The event raised money for the animal welfare charities “All Dogs Matter” and “Animals Asia”.
All Dogs Matter is a charity that rescues and re-homes more than 300 dogs a year in London, Norfolk and the surrounding areas. The dogs who come into their care are strays, from pounds or simply dogs whose owners no longer can or want to keep them. £2 provides food for treats for one day and £10 is enough to buy bedding.
Animals Asia was founded in 1998 by Jill Robinson MBE, and has worked tirelessly around the horrific dog and cat meat trade as well as the cruel bear bile farming industry. £5 buys a jar of honey for the bears and £8 buys a basket of fruit to feed them.
Many scientific studies have concluded that the presence of pets can substantially reduce a person’s stress level in the workplace. In fact, a study published by the International Journal of Workplace Health Management (2010) concluded that the presence of dogs in the work place even had a positive effect on those employees who didn’t have a dog of their own.
