R H Irving Industrials Limited targets continued growth following acquisition by Mitie Group plc

R H Irving Industrials Limited, a Northumberland-based specialist security and facilities services provider, is targeting further growth following its £19.1m acquisition by Mitie Group plc, a leading facilities management company listed on the London Stock Exchange.

Founded by Managing Director Gavin Dunn, the Matfen-headquartered business has almost 25 years’ experience in delivering a broad range of complex and sophisticated security services to companies and partners throughout the UK in sectors such as critical national infrastructure and utilities.

The security integration specialist is responsible for the concept, design, manufacture, build, installation, and maintenance of a wide range of products and services, including electronic detection, fabrication, lighting, fencing, civils, automated access, CCTV access control, hostile vehicle mitigation and cyber protection.

Advising the shareholders of R H Irving Industrials Ltd on the sale was a team from Newcastle-based RG Corporate Finance (RGCF), led by partner and head of corporate finance Carl Swansbury, corporate finance director Rhiannon Nightingale and corporate finance manager Adam Tindale. Corporate tax partner Simon Whiteside and corporate tax director Simon Hopwood provided transactional tax advice.

Legal advice to the shareholders was provided by corporate partners Ashraf Ali and Charlie Fielding and corporate solicitor Vanessa Saleh of Northern firm Square One Law.

Transaction services advice was provided to Mitie Group plc by James Tubby, Josh Whittingham and Syed Bukhari of PwC, and legal advice by Rebecca Bothamley and Niki Mehta of Mayer Brown.
